Karen is highly regarded as one of the leading HR professionals within the leisure and hospitality community. A wealth of experience has seen Karen lead HR teams in Scottish & Newcastle (Retail), Spirit Group, being involved in many sales, mergers and acquisitions along the way.
She then went on as a board director at late night bar specialist Novus Leisure – the business enjoyed monumental growth and under Karen’s stewardship, enjoyed their best ever trading during the all important festive periods. Another buy-out took place – this time to a VC led partner and Karen took the opportunity to expand her skill set and become HRD for an international hotel/hostel/bar business.
This was followed as a long term HRD consultation to Casual Dining Group, Burger King, Wagamama – providing executive support and project lead to the senior management team across a number of initiatives.
Her passion for people has made certain that RTW Checker will never be a software only solution – we will never treat people as a number and we will always ensure that, regardless of status, we do the very best to comply with all the latest employment legislation as well as immigration laws.
Our operations team is led by Penny Blake, who drives her team to ensure our customers receive the very best service from the moment they bring RTW Checker on-board.
Penny’s career in hospitality started many years ago in the local pub and soon progressed to her real passion – technology in business. A stint at, what was then a start-up, Ocado followed. After Ocado was launched she departed and joined the team at the information consultancy Tahola – and this she excelled with her new found love of data and processes.
Penny freelanced at another start up, designing processes and communications before joining Karen and Jason with the launch of RTW Checker. Bringing to the team all those skills to create processes, design programs and workflows for the team.
Her tenacity and her passion to ensure we get it right first time means that RTW Checker has, quite rightly, the reputation for the best customer service, the best delivery and the best client development across the whole of the Right to Work sector.
The commercial team have Jason at their helm. He started his working life at a B2B publishing company and then took charge of Total Publishing and the launch of Pub & bar – two huge trade shows that were the leaders in their respective field.
After the success of these two event, he went to highly regarded hospitality publisher Martin Information, leading the commercial teams that delivered M&C Report, Retailers Retailer Awards and Hotel Report.
After the business was acquired by publisher William Reed, he has helped trade associations, large organisations and SMEs with event delivery, marketing, online and commercial activities.
Jason is tasked in the alignment of the product and the integration with key partners.
